PM Catalyst 1.0: Real Talk on Project Management in the AI Era

WeekMate PM Catalyst

WeekMate kicked off a new initiative called PM Catalyst 1.0. This space gives Project Managers an opportunity to come together, share their experiences, and gain knowledge from their journeys. The very first meeting showed the spirit of this series: candid, practical, and grounded in real challenges rather than theory.

What the Session Covered

The real challenges of managing projects today

The session began with a simple overview of the real world of a PM. The event covered all the usual topics, including shifting client expectations, the need to meet tight deadlines, and, of course, the big question: “Where does AI fit in?” The emphasis remained on addressing business issues rather than chasing trends.

Where AI helps, and where it does not

A big part of the discussion was about using AI with intention. AI in project management works best when it is governed, secured, and used to reduce risk, not just to move faster. The message was clear. Speed without control is not progress.

There is no fixed rule for managing people

One of the most relatable takeaways was that there is no single “thumb rule” for management. Every team and every project calls for a different approach. Good PMs adapt constantly and keep their team’s wellbeing at the center of every decision.

Growth happens in rooms like this one

The session was also a reminder that real growth comes from sharing insights and hearing other perspectives. That is exactly why PM Catalyst was built. Not as a one-off event, but as an ongoing space for PMs to learn from each other.

About the Speaker

Thanks to Chetan Sheladiya for an insightful first session! Chetan is the Founder & CEO of Metizsoft Solutions Private Limited, with 18+ years of experience in the industry. When it comes to polishing their craft and making a real impact, project managers have lots to consider based on his point of view.

The Impact

This was more than an introductory session. This was the beginning of a series that project managers can really use in their daily work. The lessons learnt from PM Catalyst 1.0 are already making a difference in our approach to delivery, whether it’s managing customer expectations or leveraging AI responsibly.

What’s Next

Thanks to our Founder for driving this initiative forward, and to all the Project Managers and the incredible WeekMate team for making PM Catalyst 1.0 a great start. Here’s to many more sessions ahead.
